Clackamas woman with dementia found safe

CLACKAMAS, Ore. -- A missing 64-year-old woman suffering from dementia who went missing Sunday afternoon was found safe Monday morning after the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office activated a search-and-rescue operation.

Shirley Darlow was found safe at 24th and Powell in Clackamas, the sheriff's office tweeted.

Darlow was last seen leaving her Clackamas residence in the 15000 block of Southeast 90th Avenue at about 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Police asked the public, especially those who live in the area of 90th and Jannsen in Clackamas, to check their outbuildings, sheds, pools, covered boats, vehicles or other areas on their properties.

A search command post was set up at the Sheriff's Office Public Safety Training Center at 12700 Southeast 82nd Avenue in Clackamas. Pacific Northwest Search & Rescue, Mountain Wave Emergency Communications and NORSAR assisted the sheriff's office in the search and rescue.
