Missing boy found in Troutdale

Boy with autism found safe in Troutdale

UPDATE:

Maliki's family said Tuesday afternoon that he was found in Troutdale.

At about 1 p.m. Tuesday, a citizen saw Maliki getting into a car in the Cherry Park Shopping Center in Troutdale.

The man driving the car, referred to by police as "an adult male associate" of Maliki's, is being interviewed by Gresham police detectives. The Gresham Police Department said the identity of the driver is not being released because no arrests have been made.

Original story:

Have you seen 12-year-old Maliki Skutley? His family hopes you have.

“I thought I would never be going through this,” said Amanda Clark, Maliki’s mother.

“It's a very, very, hard thing to be going through. I don't wish this upon anybody. I'm just praying that my baby is found, and found safe, and back with us,” Clark said.

She said the 12-year-old got up and walked out of their Extended Stay America hotel room in Gresham around one o’clock in the morning. She heard the door slam. But by the time she got outside, he was gone. Now police are looking for him and asking for help to find him.

“Really worried, sick to my stomach can't even describe the feeling of this,” said Clark.

His family is now left with no idea where he could be, and they're missing him terribly.

“More than I can say right now. I've been up most the night crying and driving a lot,” said Shane Skutley, the boy’s father.

Maliki's family said he suffers from ADHD, autism, and anxiety, but is a friendly kid who would talk to anyone. The family says they hope someone spots something.

Family members said the boy has run away before, but never at night and he's never been gone for this long.

Maliki's parents say a bystander spoke to the boy who apparently said he was going to the store.

Maliki has curly brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue pajama pants. Call 911 if you see him.
