Police: Boy hit and killed by pickup truck

SHERWOOD, Ore. – A 4-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle at a Sherwood apartment complex Friday afternoon.

Sherwood police said the boy was hit in the parking lot of the Creekview Crossing Apartments, located in the 21000 block of Southwest Cedar Brook Way.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, according to Sherwood police. An investigation is ongoing.

Kids at the apartment complex brought flowers to the scene in the hours following the crash.

Editor's note: Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue initially said the boy was 5 years old. Sherwood police has since corrected the child's age to 4.
