Gresham woman reported missing in Lincoln City drowned

The son of Jeanene Beck, the Gresham woman who was found dead in a canal on Friday night, spoke with KGW.

LINCOLN CITY, Ore. – A Gresham woman reported missing in Lincoln City was found dead in a canal Friday night.

An autopsy determined that Jeanene Beck drowned. Lincoln City police said there were no signs of foul play.

Beck was reported missing by her 23-year-old son after she left their Rodeway Inn motel room at around 9 p.m. Thursday to smoke a cigarette, and never returned.

Family members and friends helped police search for Beck. She was found at around 9:40 p.m. Friday in a canal behind the motel.

Beck’s body was recovered and showed no signs of injury, according to Lincoln City Police Chief Keith Kilian. Additionally, he said the public is not in danger.

The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy is conducted on Sunday.
