Is this your pigeon? Washington County police hope to return pet bird to owner

A bird followed a Beaverton boy home and refused to leave the family's front porch.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A mother called police Tuesday after a malnourished pigeon followed her son to their home in the Rock Creek community west of Portland and refused to leave.

Deputy Zach Majors said when he arrived, he noticed that the pigeon had a tag on its leg, which means the bird is probably domesticated and belongs to someone in the area.

Majors took the pigeon home and fed it some birdseed, saying it "chowed it down like it hadn't eaten in awhile."

The Washington County Sheriff's Office wants to reunite the bird with its owner. If you have information about who the bird belongs to, please call the sheriff's office at 503-629-0111.
