SALEM, Ore. -- A woman in a wheelchair was pinned under the bumper of a pickup after she was hit in an intersection in Keizer Wednesday, police said.

At around 11:40 a.m., 25-year-old Rachel Lehmann was hit in the intersection of River Road North and Juedes Avenue North, said Sgt. Trevor Wenning with Keizer police.

Dean Bartell, 32, who was driving the truck, told police he had stopped at the intersection and looked to his right before concentrating on traffic to the left. When he started to drive, he struck Lehmann in the crosswalk.

Lehmann was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Bartell was cited for failing to stop and remain stopped for a pedestrian.
