WASHINGTON -- A 21-year-old soldier from Kennewick, Wash. was killed in the line of duty Tuesday in Afghanistan, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.
Army Spc. Robert W. Ellis was among four men killed in Bagram when enemy forces attacked their unit with indirect fire, according to the statement.
Spc. Ellis was assigned to 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo. Two other men in his division, 21-year-old Spc. Ember M. Alt of Beech Island, S.C. and 30-year-old Spc. William R. Moody of Burleson, Texas, were killed in the attack.
Sgt. Justin R. Johnson, 25, of Hobe Sound, Fla, assigned to the 10th Transportation Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade, Fort Eustis, Va., was also killed.
