PORTLAND – Portland’s iconic and irreverent local pastry shop, Voodoo Doughnut, is expanding outside of Oregon.
The popular doughnut shop is set to open in Denver, which will be its fourth location including two stores in Portland and another in Eugene.
The owners of the independently-owned store decided to move into the Mile-High City after two years of market research.
They think the city’s young business crowd and vibrant music scene will make for scores of customers to devour their eccentrically shaped and unconventionally topped treats.
The change won’t be without a few challenges. Bakers will need to adjust for high-altitude baking.
The new location is planned to open in the fall.
