VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Vancouver City Council has approved medical marijuana gardens for certain parts of the city.

Their guidelines state that any land used for pot gardens must be located in industrial areas and a distance away from schools.

It was unclear whether the gardens could eventually be used for the manufacture of marijuana to sell to recreational pot users.

Washington's new legalized possession law will officially go into effect early Thursday morning.
