SEATTLE (AP) -- A man who said he's a vampire and threatened to blow up a bomb taped to his arm was arrested after causing a scare in downtown Seattle this morning outside the King County Courthouse.
Police talked the man into cutting off the suspicious wired pipe and took him to jail for investigation of making a bomb threat.
Police have not yet said whether the device was explosive.
No one was hurt. A major intersection, at Third and James, was closed for nearly two hours.
Police say it began shortly after 8 a.m. when the man walked into downtown Seattle shelter and said he was a vampire and wanted to eat people for breakfast. The staff ushered him outside and called police.
Witnesses say the man had wrapped his body in black duct tape and was pacing in circles, making threats. When police arrived, he complied with orders to surrender.
