ROSEBURG - The family of an injured University of Oregon student has increased a reward to help to find the person who threw a rock from an Interstate 5 overpass.
The rock went through the driver's side windshield, hitting 20-year-old Molly Grabill in the face at the Isadore Road overpass in November, after the Thanksgiving weekend. The rock was larger than a baseball, according to Oregon State Police troopers.
A passenger grabbed the steering wheel, but lost control and the car rolled on the freeway.
Grabill, a University of Oregon student and track athlete, was taken to a Springfield hospital for treatment of facial injuries and was in good condition Tuesday. The passenger was treated and released for minor injuries.
The reward was increased to $2,500 Tuesday.
Anyone with information was asked to call OSP Detective Tom Willis at (541) 440-3334 or the OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at (541) 440-3333.
