PORTLAND – A house was almost completely engulfed by flames at 5216 NW 137th Avenue near Bethany shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, firefighters said.
The homeowners were reportedly not home when the fire broke out. Two dogs were able to escape the home before firefighters arrived and were being cared for by neighbors.
Investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
Firefighters said the home, which is considered a total loss, was next to impossible to save because of the size of the fire.
