PORTLAND -- TriMet opened secure bike-and-ride sheds in Gresham and Beaverton Monday.

The Beaverton Transit Center location holds 100 bikes and there are 30 spaces at the Gresham Central Transit Center.

Using them requires a $20 BikeLink card to enter. It works like a debit card, deducting three cents an hour, or one cent an hour weekends and evenings. There is a one-time $5 fee to get the card.

Riders use their own locks.

Cards can be purchased for half-price while supplies last at the Bike Gallery Beaverton location, the Coffee Break at the Beaverton Transit Center, the TriMet Ticket Office at Pioneer Square and other retail locations.

BikeLink cards can also be purchased online at www.bikelink.org for the regular price of $20. Visit trimet.org/bikeandride for more information.
