TIGARD, Ore. – A Tigard coffee shop was robbed at knifepoint over the weekend.

An employee of the Black Rock Coffee Drive-Thru called 9-1-1 after running to the neighboring Sonic Drive-In for help. The caller said the robber first tried to enter through the drive-up window and then made a second attempt and was able to get inside the kiosk.

“Once inside, the suspect displayed a large knife and demanded money from the till. The suspect then departed through the same window he entered with an undetermined amount of money and ran from the area,” said Jim Wolf, with the Tigard Police Department.

Police were on-scene within minutes and a K-9 team tried to find the suspect, with no success.

“Police did locate several dollar bills nearby which indicated the suspect may have run into a nearby neighborhood in his efforts to get away,” Wolf added.

The suspect was described as in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-8, with a stocky build. At the time of the incident, the suspect wore a black mask that covered the lower portion of his face. He also wore baggy black pants and a black hoodie.

The incident occurred just before 6 p.m., on Saturday, October 27th at 15290 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard.

Anyone with information that may help investigators was urged to contact Tigard police at (503) 639-6168.
