PORTLAND – A few thunderstorms may develop as a new weather system moves into the Portland metro area, bringing steady rain Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

More than half-an-inch of rain is expected to fall with breezy wind of 40 mph possible Sunday morning, according to KGW Meteorologist Rod Hill.

A third system will approach Sunday afternoon making for occasional periods of steady rain through the afternoon.

The coast will likely get more than an inch of rain through Sunday with stronger winds up to 60 mph, Hill said.

Mt. Hood will see snow Saturday into Sunday with Timberline potentially getting close to 20 inches. The snow level is also expected to fall to 3,000 feet.
