Poll:
What should be the charges for freeway rock-throwing?

PORTLAND – Two teenagers were arrested for allegedly throwing rocks at cars on Interstate 205 from an overpass Sunday, police said.

Investigators said two men flagged down police and told them that someone threw rocks on their vehicles from the Killingsworth overpass, damaging their windshields, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

Daniel Villalvazo-Palacios was driving a Civic that was hit.  He said he immediately swerved, pulled over and was covered in glass.  The other driver was in a truck. No one in either vehicle was seriously injured.

"There's just certain things that you just have to have common sense and think about, you know? Like your conscience. 'Should I do this or not?' And... just don't do stupid things like that. People can get hurt," he said.

Investigators quickly checked the area near the overpass and found two 17-year-old males on the railroad tracks, Simpson said.

The two teens were questioned, then arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. They were then released to their parents.
