DAMASCUS, Ore. – A bicyclist was flown in a LifeFlight helicopter to a local hospital after he was struck by a car in Damascus early Wednesday evening, police said.
The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m., near the intersection of SE Hwy 212 & Foster Road. Witnesses said an SUV was turning from the center lane and the driver did not see the cyclist before the crash. The driver was cooperating with police.
Firefighters from Boring responded and treated the patient before LifeFlight arrived. Witnesses said the victim appeared to be a man in his 20s.
He was flown to Oregon Health and Science University for treatment. Names have not yet been released.
