PORTLAND – Robbery suspects in a violent Lake Oswego home invasion last spring were tied to a bank robbery and murder of a man in Oregon earlier this month.
Portland police said 56-year-old David Ray Taylor was arrested in Eugene last week. Clackamas County deputies arrested 25-year-old Spensir Lee Mourey. Both face weapons and robbery charges.
Police said Thursday they also arrested 18-year-old Mercedes Crabtree.
On August 3rd, 22-year-old Celestino Gutierrez was reported missing. His car was later found abandoned after a bank robbery in Mapleton. Gutierrez' body was later found by police in a remote area of Lane County. The suspects were also possibly tied to June 8 bank robbery in Crewsell, according to police.
One of the suspects demanded items from the homeowner on Indian Creek Way in Lake Oswego on April 6. One suspect struck the victim in the face with the butt of a gun. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The suspects were wearing black outfits and carrying what looked like badges at the time.
