TIGARD, Ore. – Police were searching for a man suspected of robbing the Tigard branch of Columbia Bank on Friday.

The suspect entered the Columbia Bank on 11675 SW Pacific Highway around 12:30 p.m. and displayed a knife to an employee, according to a witness. He asked to be taken to the vault area and demanded money.

The suspect ran away with an undisclosed amount. Tigard Police responded and searched the area with a K-9 unit, but did not find the robber, according to Jim Wolf, a spokesman for the Tigard Police Department.

The suspect was described as a tall, thin black man wearing black warm-up pants, a white T-shirt, a black windbreaker and a black hat.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to contact the Tigard police at 503-718-2561.
