PORTLAND – Police were asking for the public’s help in tracking down a suspect who robbed Oliver’s Café in Southeast Portland early Friday morning.

Just before 6 a.m., a woman working at the café near Southeast 89th Avenue and Southeast Foster Road went outside for a moment when a man on a BMX-style bicycle rode up to her, turned her around and held a sharp object against her back, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

The victim told police the suspect then got an undisclosed amount of money and took off.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white man, 5-foot-6, with a medium build wearing a black rag on his face. He had dark clothes and smelled of B.O. and booze, the victim said.

Anyone with information was asked to call 503-823-0405.
