GRESHAM, Ore. -- A suspect was arrested in Gresham Thursday for the shooting death of a man outside his home earlier this month, police said.

Shane Brumbaugh, 23, was shot outside his home on Northeast Paropa Court on March 10. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Thursday morning a SWAT team arrested 25-year-old Miguel L. Carney, of Portland, in connection with Brumbaugh's death. He was taken into custody at a home in the 2900 block of Northeast 23rd Avenue, said Lt. Claudio Grandjean of the Gresham Police Department.

"Police believe Carney knew Brumbaugh," Grandjean said. "Detectives say more arrests are possible and the investigation has not concluded."

The arrest was made after police searched two Portland-area homes at about 4:30 a.m. Carney was jailed on one count of murder.
