PORTLAND -- Officers chased a man down Northeast Prescott Street, using pepper spray, batons, and Tasers after he assaulted three people early Saturday, police said.
Brian Delashmutt, 38, reportedly lives at a residential mental health facility in the 5700 block of Northeast Prescott Street and assaulted a resident there before leaving on foot, Sgt. Pete Simpson said.
Just before 8 a.m., Delashmutt approached a customer getting gas at USA Gas and assaulted him along with the gas station attendant. The attendant was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Simpson said.
Delashmutt eventually surrendered after assaulting two officers and was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges including assault, criminal trespass and resisting arrest, police said.
