PORTLAND – A murder suspect captured Tuesday in Beaverton was accused of forcing two people to get on a bus while he was on the run, and also allegedly tried to make them cash a check for him.
Portland police said around 9:15 p.m. Monday, two people called police from the bus stop at 185th and TV Highway, saying that they had been forced onto a bus against their will by Jason Hogan.
Hogan, 33, was the suspect in the Sunday shooting of his girlfriend and her mother. Police said he fled the shooting in a stolen car before they got to the scene. Norma Jean Perrone, 62, died. Gina Marie Perrone, 29, survived the gunfire, according to Sgt. Adam Phillips with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
The two kidnapping victims told police they refused to cash the check and were able to get away from Hogan and call police for help.
That was part of what led to Hogan's capture on Tuesday. Their information and tips lead police to the Beaverton Transit Center where they waited for Hogan to exit a MAX train and then moved in on him as he walked across a pedestrian bridge.
He was arrested without resisting and was armed with a handgun, police said.

Meantime, Hogan's girlfriend, Gina was listed in serious condition at Oregon Health and Science University, where she was treated after the shooting. The couple's young child has been placed in protective custody.
Hogan was scheduled to make his first appearance in court Wednesday.
