PORTLAND -- The "SummerWorks" employment program run by the city of Portland and Multnomah County will find jobs for 145 disadvantaged teens.
The city sponsored 95 jobs, the county, 50 in the public/private effort run by the non-profit Worksystems Inc. Worksystems prepares the teens for the internships this summer in city and county bureaus.
"It teaches me the skills like communicating, being organized, being part of a team," Veniamin Shevchenko, 17, told KGW.
