SALEM, Ore. -- Oregon head of safety and training resigned amid a criminal investigation.
A spokesperson with Governor Ted Kulongoski's office confirmed Tuesday Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Director John Minnis quit Monday at the request of the governor.
No details of the investigation were released.
The DPSST certifies Oregon police, fire, corrections, parole and probation, and telecommunications workers.
Minnis was appointed by Kulongoski in 2004 after he served in both the state House and the Senate.
