SALEM, Ore. -- Oregon head of safety and training resigned amid a criminal investigation.

Well, this should be interesting. Wonder what he was up to?

They forgot to mention that he was a Portland police officer also.

uh-oh! bad day at PoPiggyLand as this dude was most instrumental in laying the groundwork for today's climate of "abuse of power" and "lack of accountability" for law-enforcement in this state, more especially for the PoPo. He was an infamous triple-dipper having served as officer/sgt. for PPA, then State Legislator and then on to State Senator, while sharing a bed with State's Speaker of the Legislature Karen Minnis, and having resigned as State Senator to take over the agency he'd masterminded during his legislative tenue to provide "duck 'n' cover' tactics for all the "good boys" within the little system known as "Oregon Law Enforcement". He and his wife displayed the most exemplary of rightwing Republican live styles in that they ascribed to the hallmark characteristic: 'we got ours, now f**k you, you get yours' and as long as their toes weren't stepped on in your getting yours, they didn't notice you...God help you otherwise! We all need to shout from our rooftops in joy at t

newsflasher, before you condemn a man you should wait for the facts. IF he has done something wrong then let the courts take action. I know both Karen and John. And I have always found them to be upright honest hard working people. To many judge before they really know what is going on or they assume by all the misinformation out there. It is people like you that only know part of a story and then spread vicious rumors about the ones you know absolutely nothing about. Doesn't anyone monitor these posts?

I'm sure whatever is going on there's nothing to worry about it. If he had done something wrong, the media and press would tell us. If he had done something illegal the Governor would say so. Maybe he got a promotion or something and all this is is a procedural thing and it'll all be okay soon. I think if he had donw something bad to lose his job, John Minnis would probably say so because he is a public servant and they're suppose to be accountable to us and stuff.

It's a matter of the commie/socialist liberals RUNNING OUT a GOOD GOD FEARING CONSERVATIVE. Nancy Pelosi and her LEFT WING KOOL AID DRINKERS are running out GOOD CHRISTIANS. John is a GOOD FAMILY MAN with GOOD MORALS. He is an UPSTANDING member of the community. This is a SHAME.

Odd how this story has disappeared from all the other news sites.

kidiggitydog - This was a Republican appointed by a democratic governor. A poor choice, i agree, but his is also the husband of the former speaker of the oregon house Karen Minnis. Use any story and try to spin it against the "liberals" even if it is one of your own caught up in an ethics investigation. And you call the "liberals" involerant, our beloved governor even appointed this person. Talk about hypocritical. Check Facts. Oh wait, no need to use those since your a con?!

As one of many former DPSST employees I can tell you that Minnis was very detrimental to the department. The alarmingly high turnover of talented and valuable people was a travesty. He also stifled those very exceptional people who still work there through his unfair practices associated with hiring and firing, as well as appointing and promoting the unqualified "yes men and women". He circumvented processes and removed more than half of the management team, who impeded his unethical practices. I hope the AG does a full investigation of the Department as they have in the past. The appointment of Gabliks is questionable because he was right beside Minnis as an accomplice to the systematic decline that Minnis orchestrated. This department has a mission to train our public safety individuals and should be restored to the high level of operation it was at before Minnis took over. It is truly a crime that they have had to work harder while restrained in corrosive environment.

WOW! Mr. Minnis apparently has a few RED KOOLAID DRINKING fans in the audience. Whenever you can't accept the truth of your own CORRUPT LEADERS' ILLEGAL ACTIONS, you have to start with the Nancy Pelosi BS. Doesn't it just suck that JUSTICE IS BLIND and you don't get a pass just because you CLAIM THE NAME OF CHRIST but fail to actually FOLLOW HIS EXAMPLE? It's a SHAME you NEOCONS can't think for yourselves instead of spewing the FOX NOISE talking points at every turn.
