PORTLAND -- The 2010 Portland General Electric/SOLV Starlight Parade rolled through the streets of Downtown Portland again Saturday night.
The parade took place from 9 - 11 p.m. and was also broadcast live on KGW-TV. The parade usually draws more than 250,000 spectators to downtown Portland.
This popular parade isn’t the usual show with traditional marching bands and fancy floats – instead, the hand-built entries glow in the dark and light up Portland streets lined with fans.
Seth Aaron Henderson, the recent winner of the reality show, Project Runway, was Grand Marshal of this year’s parade.

The Spirit of the West theme was designed to honor the first illuminated Rose Festival parades in the 1900's. The Community Pride section featured entries from several public organizations who share their community pride by serving others.
Another important theme and goal of the parade was to be Clean and Green; as kind to the environment as possible. Before the parade, volunteers handed out bags for litter and recyclables. In addition, a clean-up crew picked up trash and wash the streets right after the parade ends.
This year's parade also featured the Providence Pink Gloves Dance group. The Pink Gloves Dance became an internet sensation after the locally made video was shared on You Tube. .
