SALEM – One man was stabbed and another man assaulted by six or seven suspects in a parking lot Friday evening, police said.

The 19-year-old Hispanic male was stabbed multiple times in the 1800 block of Lancaster Drive Northeast around 8:45 p.m., said Lt. Keith Blair with the Salem Police Department.

Officers also found an 18-year-old Hispanic man who had been physically assaulted, Blair said.

The suspects were described as a group of 16-year-old to 18-year-old Hispanic males in a red Dodge Neon sedan with black wheels driven by a white woman in her early 20s, Blair said.

The suspects then fled Northbound on Lancaster Drive Northeast.

The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities were investigating the attack as gang related and anyone with information was asked to call police.
