PORTLAND – Heavy rains have tapered off at the Oregon Coast.
A drier weather pattern was forecast for Friday through Monday of next week.
In Rockaway Beach, water was knee-deep on some streets Wednesday.

In Seaside, workers at some businesses were stacking sandbags to protect buildings. Area residents said they were anticipating some flooding and high water.
Waters also rose over parts of Highway 101.

Rain totals for October as of early today include, Astoria with 11.84 inches, 5.92 inches in Portland and 5.66 in Salem. The updated National Weather Service November outlook calls for below normal rainfall.
