PORTLAND -- Multnomah County has scheduled a public meeting Wednesday to review designs for a replacement Sellwood Bridge.
The session will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Dance Pavilion of Oaks Park, 7100 SE Oaks Park Way.
An array of information on the bridge project will be available on a drop-in basis for visitors.
An online feedback system at www.sellwoodbridge.org will accept comments through Aug. 8.
After the federal government approves environmental impact statements, design work could begin late this year.
Construction could begin in 2012 if money can be found to pay for the project. The cost of the bridge is about $330 million.
Last fall, the county enacted a $19 annual fee for vehicle renewals to ultimately raise $127 million toward the cost of the bridge. The tax would stay in place for 20 years. It takes effect on Sept. 1.
