PORTLAND - Portland Saturday Market vendors are hoping the Festival of the Last Minute bumps up some sales this weekend.
The market gets most of its business from tourists -- but this timeof year is when many of the locals come out.
Most vendors here offer unusual or one-of-a-kind gifts. Vendors said lately, a lot of shoppers are not purchasing, and for those who are, they're not buying a whole lot.
“At Christmas time, it’s supposed to be our high time, that’s when we make the most amounts of sales in the past,” vendor Jan Carroll of Earthlights said. “This year, that’s not the case and so none of us were really prepared for that. I don’t know if it’s the weather, we don’t know what it is. We just know, that for a lot of us, this is our income.”
Saturday market is open every day from now until Christmas Eve.
