CORBETT, Ore – A man was killed while riding his motorcycle by an alleged intoxicated driver Saturday evening in a rural area of southeast Multnomah County, deputies said.

Gar Riggs, 60, of Sandy was struck head on by a 2012 Dodge Ram truck driven by 42-year-old Brian Leymaster of Corbett around 7:45 p.m., said Lt. Derrick Peterson with Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation indicates that Leymaster was intoxicated when he crossed the center line into the wrong lane and struck Riggs near the 39100 block of Southeast Gordon Creek Road.

Leymaster was taken into custody and booked on charges including DUII, felony hit-and-run, and negligent homicide, Peterson said.

Southeast Gordon Creek Road was closed for about four hours Saturday during the investigation.
