VANCOUVER -- SWAT officers closed off about six blocks in the Minnehaha neighborhood of Vancouver at NE 44th Street and NE 40th Avenue Thursday morning.

Deputies first responded about 4 a.m. to a report of a disturbance. Clark County sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. Fred Neiman said someone in a house fired one shot. No one was hit.

Several people were able to leave the home. One man remained and barricaded himself inside, Neiman said.

The incident ended about 9 a.m. with the arrest of Bradley Kimball, 50, of 4514 NE 40th Ave. He was spotted at 33rd and Y streets by a member of the Clark/Skamania Drug Task Force who was passing through the area, Neiman said.

Neiman said Bradley likely snuck out of the house before SWAT officers arrived.

Nearby Truman grade school was in lockout. Students were allowed to arrive for classes but were kept inside until the SWAT incident ended.

A reverse 911 call was also sent to area neighbors letting them know of the police action.
