PORTLAND -- Construction crews are in the middle of project near the Ross Island Bridge which has led to a lot of noise complaints from area residents.
Crews have been working to smooth out lanes and make safety improvements for walkers and bikers. But people living nearby said it has sounded more like an earthquake.
“It’s loud enough that our home kind of shakes. I close all the windows and I turn on the fan as high as it goes just to kind of balance out the noise,” said neighbor Anne Dye.
Officials with the Oregon Department of Transportation said they have taken measures to soften overnight equipment noise.
They also said that the work that has been producing the loud noises was scheduled to end Wednesday night.
