PORTLAND -- Guns used by John Wayne and William Holden were stolen Tuesday afternoon from a locked display case at the Movie Madness video store in Southeast Portland.

A Winchester used by Wayne in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" and a shotgun used by Holden in "The Wild Bunch" were taken by a thief who had cased the Movie Madness video store for about 25 minutes before breaking into display cases.

Movie Madness, a favorite of Portland film fans for years, has a number of vintage movie items in locked display cabinets.

The man is described as in his 30s or 40s, stocky and bald, wearing a white T-shirt, shorts and riding a mountain bike.
