PORTLAND - Gusty winds and higher temperatures have led to Red Flag fire warnings for most of Western Oregon and Southwest Washington.

The National Weather Service said there was the “potential for explosive fire growth and spread” in the Portland area, Coast Range and Willamette Valley.
The Camas-Washougal fire department ordered a burn ban within city limits until further notice. On Wednesday, firefighters in Portland and Gresham had to deal with several wildfires.
“As we move into the weekend, be real cautious of open flames,” Clackamas Fire official Brandon Paxton said. “Even throwing a cigarette out a window, or a bark dust fire, fire is going to spread very quickly.”
