ALOHA, Ore. -- A pregnant woman and her young son were able to safely escape from her car just after a crash, and just before the car was fully engulfed in flames, police said.
The car had crashed into a tree at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on Farmington Road, between Souhtwest 209th Avenue and Clark Hill Road, said Karen Eubanks of Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
By the time fire crews arrived minutes later, the car was in flames. The woman and her son had gotten out of the car safely and were waiting nearby in a newspaper delivery person's vehicle.
The car fire was extinguished and the two were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were both listed in fair condition.
