NEWPORT, Ore. -- A sinkhole was developing on Highway 101 near Newport, according to Oregon State Police.
The potential sinkhole is located near milepost 144. Drivers were warned to expect delays in the area, as Highway 101 is down to one lane of traffic.
Road crews with the Oregon Department of Transportation have been monitoring the erosion and will create a detour around it, if necessary.
