PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland firefighters have treated a rash off cooking related fire injuries in the past three days.
Investigators were called to the home on NE 95th Avenue where a grease fire left three people treated for smoke inhalation. One of the patients, a female, was transported to Emanuel Burn Center with severe burns.
Crews on Wednesday night found a young man outside with burns over 20 percent of his body after he spilled a pan of flaming oil. He had been moving the pan from the stove when it caught fire.
Another young man inside was taken to the hospital after being burned by the spilled, flaming oil.
Before that, Portland fire officials said a 43-year-old woman suffered severe burns after she accidentally poured a full bottle of lighter fluid onto a small outdoor barbecue.
Officials said the flames burned her and a portion of a building Wednesday. She was rushed to a Portland hospital.
