PORTLAND – A Portland psychologist who has seen thousands of patients over the years put out a warning Tuesday night after his laptop computer was stolen.
The computer contained social security numbers, names and diagnosis information. It was stolen from Dr. David Gostnell’s car last month.
Some of his former patients were already notified of the security breach but as many as 4,000 people were at risk, authorities said.
Gostnell has seen patients at his office in Northeast Portland as well as Oregon Health and Science University. An OHSU spokesman told KGW that no data from OHSU patients was on the laptop.
He set up a phone number for past patients to call for more information: 1- 877-461-7657.
