PORTLAND -- Police have arrested a man they called "The Nerdy Bandit," suspected of robbing two American Apparel stores and an Urban Outfitters in Portland last year.

Thaddeus Vachel Lindsay-Woods, 31, was arrested after officers served a search warrant at 3576 Southeast Division Street Friday morning, said Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.

Lindsay-Woods was jailed on first and second-degree robbery charges.

In each incident, the suspect browsed for clothing for several minutes before robbing the store with a note implying he had a weapon.

A forensic sketch released to the public last November helped police find Lindsay-Woods, Simpson said.
