PORTLAND – Drivers passing through the light rail construction zone in Southeast Portland were under the magnifying glass Monday as police zoned in on traffic violators.
The construction project was located along SE Division Street, between 8th and 12th Avenues. Police said many drivers are ignoring the safety rules and going too fast.
“We’re continuing our effort to make sure people are slowing down and following laws as they roll through neighborhoods,” said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.
The closures for the light rail project were expected to continue 24 hours a day for the next three weeks.
