PORTLAND -- Police arrested a man accused of breaking into a home in Portland's Goose Hollow neighborhood after fleeing from an attempted traffic stop.
Sgt. Pete Simpson says officers noticed a basement door ajar Thursday while searching the neighborhood for 41-year-old Alex Loftin.
Officers spoke with the resident who told police she has two roommates but neither was home.
The woman gave police permission to search the house, and they found Loftin hiding between a toilet and shower stall.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges of burglary, reckless driving, attempting to elude police.
