PORTLAND-- Detectives are ramping up efforts in their search for a 29-year-old father of four who was reported missing from his North Portland home on Saturday Dec. 22, police said.
Matthew McConnell-Hegland was with friends at the Twilight Room on North Lombard Avenue, then took a cab to and was last seen at the Pier Park Apartments on N. Columbia at around 1:30 a.m., according to a family member.

Police have expanded their search nationwide and distributed bulletins to law enforcement agencies throughout the country. Police also released additional photos of McConnell-Hegland hoping some will recognize him.
He is described as a white male, 29 years old, 6-feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has receding brown hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo of a black 5-pointed star on his right upper arm.
Portland police said Monday McConnell-Hegland may be suffering a mental health crisis and was considered endangered.
