Auto theft investigation leads to N Portland business

PORTLAND – Police swarmed a North Portland business Tuesday afternoon as part of a coordinated metro-area search for evidence in a suspected auto theft ring.

Dozens of officers entered West Coast Car Crushing at 9101 N Columbia Blvd, Tuesday afternoon.

Portland and Oregon State police and Clark and Clackamas county sheriff's deputies were involved in a coordinated series of searches in Portland and Vancouver, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland police.

Officers also raided:

  • A1 Light Truck and Van Parts at 9609 North Columbia Boulevard
  • 330 North Lotus Isle Drive
  • 516 West Fourth Plain Boulevard in Vancouver, Wash.
  • 514 Northwest 40th Street in Vancouver, Wash.

So far no arrests have been made. The investigation was ongoing.
