CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A new report looking at wellness in nearly all the nation's counties, says Benton County, Oregon is the healthiest in the state.
Following the home of Oregon State Univeristy on the list are Hood River, Washington and Clackamas counties. Multnomah County came in at 16 out of the 33 Oregon counties.

The study looked at health outcomes (death rates, life expectancy) and health factors, such as behaviors and access to health care. Some of the factors the report looks at include premature deaths, low birth-weight babies, obesity, unemployment, high school graduation rates and pollution.
For health behaviors, the outdoor fitness destination of Deschutes County, with its playgrounds of skiing, golf,hiking and rafting, came in at No. 1.
The rankings compare counties within each state. The second annual report comes from the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
