58 seems high but is it? It would have been nice to know the average weekend arrests.

Drunk driving is a complete disregard of public safety. They should lose their driving privileges forever.

Wait a minute drezman... the average DUI fine is $1,000.00. But, that $1,000.00 pays for your "all expense paid" stay in the local county hotel for (at least) one night. By the way, that money does Not go to the State, it goes to the city or the county... and for what? The jury is still out on that one, but rest assured, that $1,000.00 is the minimum GUARANTEED! So when you say, "$580,000.000" where is the extra $522,000.00 coming from? On the other hand, the maximum is about $6,500.00; and that is for the worste case scenario. Suppose all 58 DUII arrests resulted in the maximum penalty... that would be $377,000.00 at best. But, then again, these idiots would be subject to some extended vacation time compliments of the county hotel. You may be correct in your assertion of $580,000.00. But by these calculations their is an extreme budget shortfall because it allegedly costs $30,000 per day per guest in our wonderful hotels. That's $1.74M/day for 58 of these lucky individuas
