WASHINGTON, D.C. – None of Oregon’s hospitals made the honor roll in this year’s Best Hospitals list published annually by U.S. News and World Report.
In order to make the honor list, hospitals must be ranked near the top for at least six specialties. This year, only 18 made the honor role.
Some Oregon hospitals did earn kudos for individual specialties, though. Oregon Health & Science University earned top 50 honors in the five specialties of cancer treatments, diabetes & endocrinology, geriatrics, gynecology and ear, nose & throat. It was also named the best hospital in Oregon.
Doernbecher Children's Hospital was ranked #19 in the country for pediatric cancer treatment. It also came in among the top 50 for seven other specialties including pulmonology, cardiology & heart surgery, and neurology.
