MILWAUIKIE, Ore. – A school bus was rear-ended by an SUV Wednesday afternoon in the Milwaukie area, police said.
None of the students, nor the bus driver on the North Clackamas School District bus were hurt.
However, both the driver and passenger of the Ford Explorer were injured. They were transported to area hospitals for treatment, according to officer Ulli Neitch with the Milwaukie Police Department.
It happened just after 3:30, near the intersection of SE Monroe Street and SE 37th Avenue.
The driver of the SUV, Desiree Hodges, 18, was cited for following too closely.
Traffic was diverted around the crash, and a section of Monroe Street was closed temporarily while Clackamas firefighters and paramedics evaluated the injured parties.
Hodges’ and her passenger’s injuries were not described as life-threatening.
