MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Leroy and Ann Finck were heartbroken after coming home to find their home had been burglarized. The crooks swiped whatever they could get their hands on.
"For my 50th birthday my kids bought me a gold watch with a chain and six diamonds," said Leroy.
The suspects also stole a computer, but what has the Fincks most upset is the theft of a guitar that Leroy bought back in 1957.
"It was everything I expected," said Leroy. "At the time I think I paid $300 for the guitar and amplifier."
The Fender Telecaster guitar was recently appraised at more than $18,000, but this is not about the money. Leroy has had the guitar since he was a teenager. It is like a child to him.
"At first I thought, 'Did someone know I had a guitar this valuable?' But now we're thinking not," said Leroy.
"Please bring it back whoever you are," added Ann tearfully.
Leroy hopes he can get the guitar back in time to play it at his 75th birthday celebration in July. If you have any information about this case you are urged to all the Milwaukie Police Department at (503) 786-7500.
