PORTLAND -- A man was grazed by a bullet Sunday morning when two men mugged him on NE Alberta Street, police said.
Portland police received the report of a shooting just before 12:30 a.m. in the 5800 block of NE Alberta Street, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson.
Officers contacted the victim, 34-year-old Timothy Cawley, who said he had been walking on the street when two masked men approached him and demanded money. He said one of the men fired two shots at him, and then both suspects left the area.
Simpson told KGW he does not believe the suspects got away with any of the victim's property.
Cawley suffered a grazing wound to his arm and was treated by paramedics at the scene, Simpson said.
Robbery detectives were investigating. Police did not believe the shooting was gang-related.
